Crossmark is a multi-publisher initiative from Crossref to provide a standard way for readers to locate the current version of a piece of content. By applying the Crossmark logo, Journal of Learning and Instructional Studies is committing to maintaining the content it publishes and to alerting readers to changes if and when they occur. Clicking on the Crossmark logo will tell you the current status of a document and may also give you additional publication record information about the document.

Crossmark gives readers quick and easy access to the current status of an item of content. With one click, you can see if content has been updated, corrected or retracted and access valuable additional metadata provided by the publisher or the journal.

Journal of Learning and Instructional Studies place the Crossmark button close to the title of an item of content on the web page article to commit and informing the reader(s) if there is an update such as a correction or retraction. When a reader clicks on the button a pop-up box appears that headlines the current status of the content: up-to-date, updates available, or retracted, and also displays all of the additional information.
